Newland is thrilled to announce that it will be participating in EuroCIS at Hall 10 Stand D40 in Düsseldorf, from February 27th to 29th. During the event, Newland will showcase a range of new scanning solutions, including the innovative reverse vending concept scanner, all while supporting the Living Ocean charity.

Newland is developing a new scanning solution for the Reverse Vending Machine market, which will come equipped with several features that enable it to deliver exceptional performance required in a self-service scanning environment. With its 360-degree scanning capabilities, the scanner will read barcodes from any angle or orientation, making it effortless for users to return their containers, whether plastic, canned, or otherwise. Furthermore, the scanner will boast lightning-fast 1D and 2D barcode scanning technology, enabling quick reading of barcodes on bottles and cans, thereby minimizing user wait times. All these features will combine to provide a seamless user experience. The scanner will also be capable of incorporating advanced filters and illumination, which enables it to read different types of special barcodes, including watermarked, UV, infra-red, and bespoke invisible inks. This feature allows the solution to adapt to various security measures in recycling schemes throughout the region, preventing the processing of counterfeit items. As a result, there is no need to invest in multiple machines for each security measure. Additionally, integrators will benefit from the RVM scanner's small and low-cost design, making it easier to integrate, reducing design size, shortening development time, and lowering project costs.

Newland ’s aim is to deliver a cost-effective and practical solution to the RVM market. The solution will boast fast and accurate scanning capabilities and is designed to be easily integrable while keeping usability in mind for both integrators and users. This opens up new possibilities for current market leaders as well as companies and organizations seeking to enter the market. Newland believes that reducing the footprint and cost of RVM solutions will make them more accessible, leading to the collection and recycling of even more plastic and metal waste. Newland looks forward to working with organizations towards this goal.

To raise awareness for the importance of recycling and the various and upcoming Reverse Vending schemes within the region, Newland is hosting a Reverse Vending recycling initiative with its new RVM concept scanner, of which the proceeds will go to The Living Ocean, the non-profit dedicated to protecting and conserving marine ecosystems and all flora and fauna within. Come learn about how Newland’s RVM scanning solutions contribute to recycling and sustainability as a whole all while giving back to the Living Ocean.

Stacie Adams, Marketing Director at Newland , comments: “We are continually looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint with special attention to plastics and recycling, so being able to create technologies that assist the recycling of plastic bottles and waste is a great opportunity above and beyond the commercial incentives. It’s an amazing opportunity to showcase our RVM technology at EuroCIS and support The Living Ocean charity. We’ve taken inspiration from the oceans for many years in naming our products, so it makes sense to pay them some royalties.”
